Dr. Raj Panchal is a Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation specialist with a focus in the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders. He believes in the tenets of aggressive diagnosis and conservative management to support an individual’s recovery and promote an active and healthy lifestyle. His goal is to help patients find non-operative solutions to reduce pain and restore function. He believes in the body’s ability to heal itself and tries to provide patients with holistic knowledge to support that. He is trained in performing trigger point injections, image-guided joint injections, electrodiagnostic studies, ultrasound based exams and medical acupuncture.
Dr. Panchal completed his residency training at the renowned NYU Langone Health Rusk Rehabilitation, where he served as Chief Resident, among numerous other leadership roles. During his time there he contributed a book chapter to the Springer textbook, Regenerative Medicine: A Complete Guide. He has volunteered his time for numerous sports medical coverage opportunities over the last few years, including the TCS NYC Marathon for the last three years, and a variety of collegiate sporting events.
He is a New Jersey native, having attended high school at the prestigious Bergen County Academies. He went on to complete a combined 7-year Accelerated B.S./D.O program via SUNY New Paltz and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then trained at Westchester General Hospital in Miami, Fl for his one year medical internship.
Dr. Panchal has played sports his whole life with interests in basketball, football, and running. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, visiting museums and exploring the culinary scene of New York City. He is fluent in Gujarati and basic medical Spanish.
